What you need to know to come


From Monday to Sunday between the hours of 09.30h – 17.30h.



Arriving by boat at the Port of Las Palmas, also called Puerto de la Luz (Port of the Light), you will see the Poema del Mar Aquarium building from the other side of the pier. Take Muelle de León y Castillo street to Avenida de los Consignatarios. Take the Sanapú Pier and at number 22 you will find the aquarium.

If you arrive by boat to Puerto de las Nieves de Agaete, there are 35 kilometers to the aquarium. Driving from Aagete, take the GC-2 highway and follow the indications.


The urban bus lines that pass near the Poema del Mar Aquarium are lines 12, 21, 45, 47 and 60.

From Gran Canaria Airport, take bus 60 or 91 and you must get off at Las Palmas de G.C (Santa Catalina) stop. From that point, walk for about 8 minutes until you reach the main entrance of the Poema del Mar Aquarium. The estimated duration of the journey is approximately 35 minutes.

From Agaete, you must take bus line 103 and then take line 26 and 81, and walk for 8-9 minutes.


From Gran Canaria's Airport, the distance to Poema del Mar is 25.7 km and the estimated travel time is around 25 minutes.

At the roundabout of Avenida Aviación, take the GC-1 exit towards Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Follow the signs indications.



Néstor restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy à la carte dishes or the menu of the day while being enthralled observing a captivating environment: the spectacular views of the Deep Sea and the pictorial series Poema del Mar by the canary artist Néstor de la Torre.


Next to the Arrecife exhibition there is the Nemo Snack Bar, perfect for a mid-way stop.


If you prefer to drink something before or after the visit, we recommend Café Lobby, located at the entrance of the aquarium.

Gift Shop

At the end of the tour, you will find the official Poema del Mar store. If you want to take a souvenir from the aquarium you can choose between different merchandising products such as key chains, magnets, stuffed animals, caps, bracelets, and t-shirts. Among the best-sellers are the stripe fish magnets, in addition to the shark and clownfish stuffed animals.

  • Professional photographic gear is only permitted on request.
  • It is forbidden to feed or throw objects at the animals.
